Observe the Instructions for Use
Any use of the full-face mask requires full understanding and strict observa-
tion of these instructions.
The full-face mask may be used only for the purpose specified here.
Maintenance
The device must be inspected and serviced by trained service personnel at
regular intervals.
Repairs to the device may only be carried out by trained service personnel.
We recommend that you enter into a service agreement with Dräger Safety
and that all repairs be carried out by Dräger Safety.
Only authentic Dräger spare parts may be used for maintenance.
Note the instructions in the section entitled "Maintenance intervals".
Accessories
Use only accessories shown in the Order List.
Description/Intended Use
Full-face masks protect the face and the eyes from aggressive media. They
may only be used with certified respiratory filters from the X-plore series.
These include non-enclosed particle filters, gas filters or combined filters
The full-face masks are suitable for operating temperatures

from -30
C to 60
C.
For persons who wear glasses, mask-spectacle frames can be fitted.
Period of use depends, among other factors, on the nature and the concen-
tration of the contaminants as well as the type of respiratory filter used.
Approvals
The above mentioned full-face masks are approved to EN 136 CL. 2 and
are marked with the CE symbol.
For Australia and New Zealand AS/NZS 1716:1994 applies.

Conditions for use
– Oxygen content of the ambient air:
minimum of 17 vol. % in Europe except in the Netherlands, Belgium, UK
minimum of 19 vol. % in the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia,
New Zealand, UK.
minimum of 19,5 vol.% in the US.
For other countries observe the national regulations!
– The type of contaminant must be known; select respiratory filter

Do not enter unventilated rooms, shafts, sewers etc., when wearing filter
apparatus sets.
Filter apparatus sets may only be used if the ambient air is not life-threat-
ening or hazardous to health.
Use
Before use
The employer/user must ensure the following prior to first use
(see European Directive 89/656/EEC):
1)
.
– it must fit correctly to ensure e.g. proper sealing,
– the personal protective equipment must be compatible with any other
personal protective equipment worn at the same time (e.g. protective
jacket),
– the personal protective equipment must be suitable for the respective
workplace conditions,
– the personal protective equipment must match the ergonomic require-
ments and health requirements of the wearer of the respiratory protection
equipment.
Inserting the respiratory filters
The following description applies to non-enclosed particle filters, particle
filters, gas filters and combined filters. Details on the other filters in the
X-plore series can be found in the corresponding Instructions for Use.
A, B Position the respiratory filter (1) – the line markings must line up!
– and insert them until they lock into place (2) by screwing each filter
downwards until a stop is felt (line marking of the respiratory filter
above the end of the arrow!).
The respiratory filters are removed by carrying out this sequence in
reverse.
The bayonet catch must not be fitted on one side only! The respiratory
filter must be straight when locking into position!
