WRIST-THUMB IMMOBILISATION SPLINT
Properties:
• Effective immobilisation of the wrist and the thumb (one anatomical and
conformable X-ray stay).
• "Quick Lacing System" for easy, uniform tightening.
• Aerated, foam-lined fabric ensures optimum comfort.
Indications:
• Mild sprains of the wrist and/or the thumb (functional treatment).
• Serious sprains of the thumb and scaphoid fractures (post-surgery treatment).
• Tendinitis and tendon disorders of the wrist and the thumb.
• Inflammatory phases of rheumatic diseases.
• Chronic, post-traumatic or post-operative irritations.
• Arthritis and Osteoarthritis of the wrist.
Contraindication:
Do not apply the product in direct contact with broken skin.
Side effects:
No side effects are as yet known for correct use.
Adverse effects:
No adverse effects are as yet known for correct use.
Fitting instructions:
• Release the lace to slip the hand into the splint.
• Tighten the brace using "Quick Lacing System" until the desired level of support is
obtained. If necessary, adjust the protective jersey lining when tightening.
• Adjust the thumb strap by winding it around the thumb until the desired level of
support is obtained.
• To avoid constriction be careful not to tighten the lace or the strap too tightly.
Precautions:
Follow the advice of the health professional who prescribed or supplied the product.
In case of discomfort, numb fingers, impairment, loosen the brace and consult the
health professional who supplied the product.
Store at room temperature, preferably in its original packaging.
For hygiene and performance reasons, do not re-use the product for another patient.
Washing instructions:
- See product label.
- Take off the reinforcing members before washing.
- Fasten Velcro tab before washing.
- Machine wash at 30 °C (delicates cycle), preferably in a wash bag.
- Do not use detergents, fabric softeners or aggressive products (products containing
chlorine).
- Squeeze out excess water.
- Dry away from heat sources.
Composition :
Polyamid, Polyester, Elastane (See product label).
The presence of resistant laces means that the splint must not be worn close to
machines with uncovered moving parts.
