Vehicle Preparation
Temperature must be between 61°F-86°F (16°C-31°C). Wash
and thoroughly dry vehicle.
For best results vehicle should be free from damage (dents,
scuffs, creases, fractures, etc.).
Paint spoiler as required.
Note: Prior to finishing or refinishing refer to GM4901M-D-005
Refinish Manual for recommended products. Do not combine paint
systems. Refer to paint manufactures recommendations for
further information. For an electronic copy of GM4901M-D-005
refer to the GM Goodwrench web site at :
http://www.gmgoodwrench.com/gmgoodwrenchjsp/gmspo/
paint_shop.jsp.
Installation Procedure
1. Remove the Spoiler and contents from the carton.
2. Inspect all contents to verify all items are present.
3. Open the deck lid.
4. Locate the gas struts.
5. Remove the current gas struts inside the trunk. See Figure 1.
6. Install the new gas struts. Property dispose of the replaced
gas struts. See Figure 2.
7. Close the deck lid.

CAUTION: When a hood hold open device is being removed or
installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of
damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Read completely prior
to removal and installation of Hood Strut. Failure to do so could
result in bodily harm!
NOTICE: Apply pressure only at the end of the liftgate/hood
assist rod that you are removing or attaching. Do NOT apply
pressure to the middle of the rod because damage or bending
will result.
