Applications
ADEA is designed to regulate air curtains
for entrances. Thermal comfort in the
entrance section is regulated automatically
with respect to outdoor temperature, room
temperature and if the door is open or closed.
The regulator has a built-in clock with weekly
programme that can be used for lowering
temperatures during the night or at weekends
for example.
Start
First of all a programme has to be selected
and the clock has to be set. Once this is done
ADEA is ready for operation since all other
parameters are pre-programmed. The values
shown in the display-pictures in this manual
are the pre-programmed values.
- Programme 1 is choosen for AD200, AD300,
AD400 and AD Corinte
- Programme 2 is choosen for AG4000,
AG4500/5000, AGV4000, ADR as well as
GELU Linea 99 and GELU Serie L.
The programme is set by pressing the arrow
keys to find the right programme. After that,
press SELECT.
After selecting programme the clock should
be set. Press the arrow keys until day and
time is shown in the display. Press SET so
that the minutes start to flash. Select the time
by using the arrow keys and press SET. Hours
are set the same way. Finish by selecting the
right weekday and press SET. Then press the
down arrow key to reach the date display.
Month, date and year are set the same way.
ADEA
ADEA consists of a regulator unit, outdoor
sensor and door contact. The room sensor
is built into the regulator unit, but is also
available as an accessory for external use
(ADEAIS). When using the built-in room
sensor observe the position of the regulator
unit below. The control boards are available
for internal and external assembly.
- Outdoor sensor (ADEAOS). Mounted with
cable down with best effect on the north or
north east side of the building. Installing
above the door or window is unsuitable.
Sensor should be in the shade. The unit

contains two sensor elements. Connect one
sensor element per regulator unit. The first
pole is shared.
- Regulator unit (ADEAR) with built-in
room sensor. Position in a representative
place in the entrance. Remember that it
must be protected from the direct effects of
radiators, lighting or sun wherever possible.
Temperature 0°C–25°C. Sensor resistance:
32.6kOhm–0.0kOhm
- Door contact (MDCDC). Position so
that opening and closing the door can be
registered. The contact is of a magnetic
type with low voltage.
- Control boards (ADEAIB)(ADEAEB).
There are two types of control board. One
designed for the AD300 and AD400 air
curtain series for assembly in the unit's
connection box, and one fitted outside the
unit in a separate enclosure (included).
Function
When the door is closed the air curtain
serves as a service heater in the entrance
maintaining the temperature at the set
desired value by starting at low speed and half
power (electrical unit), which switches to full
power if the temperature continues to drop.
Opening the door causes the fan to operate
at maximum speed in line with the transfer
curve (in relation to outdoor temperature)
and full power is activated. When the door
is closed, the fan continues to operate at
maximum speed for a few seconds and then
eases off to minimum speed over the next few
minutes. This is to ensure that the fan does
not need to be started in a stationary position
when there is a lot of traffic in the entrance.
The unit then shuts down completely. During
over-running at maximum speed, the heating
remains on but is shut off if the maximum
temperature is reached. For over-running at
minimum speed, the heat is controlled by
a thermostat function based on set desired
values.
