Power supply
WARNING
!
To prevent ignition of flammable or combustible atmospheres,
and to avoid compromising intrinsic safety of the instrument,
read, understand, and adhere to the following procedures.
Only use a power supply detailed in the order list (see
Chap. 9 on page 21). Otherwise, the approval will be invalid
and there is the risk of explosion.
3.4.1
Charging the rechargeable battery
WARNING
!
Do not charge the rechargeable battery in areas subject to
possible explosion. Only use battery chargers that have been
approved by Dräger.

The Dräger X-act 5000 Basic does not function during
charging.
The rechargeable battery can either be charged while inside the
instrument or separately from the instrument.
1. Connect the charger to both
the battery charger connection
and the mains supply (1).
If the rechargeable battery is
charged while inside the
Dräger X-act 5000 Basic, the
battery icon will appear on the
display.
If the rechargeable battery is
charged separately, the LED (2)
will light red during charging. The

LED (2) will light green when the rechargeable battery is completely
charged. If the LED (2) flashes red during charging, an error has
occurred.
If the LED (2) flashes red during charging, an error has occurred. To
clear the error, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the rechargeable battery from the charger for approx.
10 seconds.
2. Reconnect the charger.
3. If the LED (2) lights red, continue the charging procedure.
If the LED (2) alternates between green and red, the rechargeable
battery is deeply discharged. In this case, proceed as follows:
1. Leave the rechargeable battery on the charger until the LED (2)
flashes red.
2. When the LED (2) flashes red, disconnect the rechargeable
battery from the charger for approx. 10 seconds.
3. Reconnect the charger.
4. If the LED (2) lights red, continue the charging procedure.
