instrument as follows: press the "UP" and "DOWN" keys
simultaneously for 1 second.
The "EXIT" function is not available in the following cases:
during a self-test,
during a leak test,
during a measurement,
during a calibration in the password-protected menu,
during an update of the tube database in the password-protected
menu.
WARNING
!
Some tubes must not be used in areas subject to explosion
hazards. Follow the relevant instructions for use of the tubes.
Caution when opening the tube, and be aware of any
detached glass splinters. The ends of the tube may have
sharp edges; risk of injury!
CAUTION
!
Make sure that no glass splinters enter the Dräger X-act 5000
Basic in order to avoid contaminating or clogging the tube
socket (gas inlet). When you use interfaces or make
adjustments or perform procedures that are not specified in
these instructions for use, this may lead to dangerous
situations.

If quality parameters of the pump were faulty, the instrument will
indicate that the measurement was invalid. Then, the
("Error") will be indicated and the red LED will flash until
acknowledged. If the measurement is finished without errors, the
green LED will flash until acknowledged.
3.2.2
Making a measurement with a tube
CAUTION
!
For measurements in technical gases using tubes, only the
menu "MEASUREMENT TECHN. GAS" shall be used.
Otherwise, it will result in considerable measurement errors.
NOTICE
i
i
The "MEASUREMENT TECHN. GAS" mode is designed to
consider the viscosity of a technical gas compared to the
viscosity of ambient air, which is different. Prior to this
measurement, the user must adjust the volume flow needed
for the measurement in technical gases.
1. Select "SHORT-TERM TUBE" from the menu.
2. Select air measurement or measurement in technical gas:
If the measurement has to be in air, select "MEASUREMENT AIR".
If the measurement has to be in technical gas, select
"MEASUREMENT TECHN. GAS".
3.2.3
Measurement in air
If the "air measurement" mode is selected, the operation is performed
manually. All Dräger short-term tubes may be used for this mode once
the corresponding number of strokes has been set before the
measurement starts. The measurement result can be read out directly
at the short-term tube.
