Preparation for use
3.1.1
Preparing the Dräger X-act 5000 Basic for use
1. The rechargeable batteries used must be sufficiently charged;
charge the battery if necessary (see Chap. 3.4.1 on page 16).
2. If necessary, connect a hose to the gas outlet and make sure that
the waste gas is exhausted.

Switching on the Dräger X-act 5000 Basic
1. To switch on the Dräger X-act 5000 Basic, press the "OK" key until
the numbers 3 ... 2 ... 1 are displayed sequentially.
The firmware version is indicated on a startup screen.
The Dräger X-act 5000 Basic automatically runs a self-test.
After the self-test, the instrument displays any errors or warnings
which occurred during startup.
2. Confirm if the leak test is to be carried out or not.
3. If the leak test has been completed or skipped, select the
operating mode.
When the Dräger X-act 5000 Basic is switched on, the last selected
operating mode including the set number of strokes or volume flow
rate will be preset.

How to navigate the menu
LEAK TEST
SKIP LEAK TEST
The Dräger X-act 5000 Basic offers two options in the lower part of the
display.
To highlight a menu or an option, press the "UP" or "DOWN" key.
To select the highlighted menu or option, press the "OK" key.
To exit an option or to abort the password-protected menu, press
the "UP" and "DOWN" keys at the same time for 1 second. After
1 second, the display indicates the previous mode/option.

General settings of the password-protected menu
Select the password-protected menu and adapt the settings of the
Dräger X-act 5000 Basic to your needs as follows:
1. Switch on the instrument.
2. When the self-test is finished, press the "DOWN" key for at least
4 seconds.
The instrument will prompt the user to enter a password.
3. Use the arrow keys to enter the password. Confirm each digit with
the "OK" key.
