Connection with flexible hose
The Pro Clear Ultima unit is supplied with two universal 45o hosetails to take 38mm and 40mm diameter flexible
hose. If you are using the larger size, the smaller section of the hosetail must be cut off to ensure sufficient water
flow and prevent possible damage to the pump. We recommend that you use the largest diameter hose available.
The hosetails should be trimmed away from the unit as shown in the diagram below.
Using a hacksaw, carefully cut off the excess hosetail, ensuring that the sections are cut off at the ridge and that
the cut follows the line of the ridge.
Once the hosetails have been trimmed, attach them to the unit as described above. Secure the hosepipe to the
hosetail with a stainless steel hose clip.
Connection using rigid pipe
This unit may also be rigid plumbed. Rigid 32mm pipe (not supplied) can be attached directly to the inside of the
hosetails using a suitable solvent cement. To connect either 1.5" or 2" rigid pipe, first fit a 2" BSP plain to female
threaded union (TMC code: 7507 - please ask your local stockist) to the inlet and outlet of the unit.To achieve a water
tight seal you will need to use silicon aquarium sealant on the threads and follow the manufacturer's instructions
on curing the silicon sealant

Please note that for optimum performance we recommend that you pass the entire volume of your pond through the
UV unit approximately once every two hours. Please also note that we recommend a minimum flow rate equivalent
to passing the entire pond volume through the unit once every three hours.
This unit has been designed for use with all types of pond pump (working pressure not to exceed 0.7 bar). Advice
should be sought from your dealer if the unit is to be subjected to abnormal conditions.
