5 Operating the test bench
5.1 Operating the test bench (with PC)
The test bench can be controlled from a PC via the USB port (see figure in section "Layout and function").
A Windows operating system and DriveLab software is required to this end.
The scope of functions offered by the test bench is substantially increased as a result. For example,
characteristic curves can be recorded automatically, static loads can be configured and various load models
can be simulated.
The information required for this purpose is included in the DriveLab software manual.
5.2 Operating the test bench (without PC)
As a prerequisite, all of the steps listed in "commissioning" section must first be completed.
The test bench is controlled with the rotary knob, and with the help of feedback received at the display.
A detailed description regarding the selection of operating modes is included in section "Operating modes".
5.3 Operating modes
Three different operating modes are available:
•
Torque control
The objective of this operating mode is to record a characteristic curve for motor speed in rpm. The test
object is constantly subjected to a preselected torque value over the entire speed range to this end.
•
Speed control
The objective of this operating mode is to record a characteristic curve for torque at a single, or several
preselected motor speeds.
•
PC mode
The test bench is operated from a PC when this mode is activated.
The operating mode is selected and configured with the rotary knob (see item 9 in section "Layout").
