GETTING STARTED
When you first receive your safe you will
need to open the door with the key. A battery
is included and is located in the top of the
Styrofoam packaging.
NOTE: This key has also been provided in
case you lose or forget your security code or
the batteries run low. If you lose your key,
you may purchase a replacement key by
referencing the serial number located on the
front of the door. See the Key Request
section regarding key replacement for
further information.
To open the safe, insert key into lock and
turn counter clockwise until the holster
compartment automatically opens.
To access the battery compartment you will
need to open the holster compartment
completely.
At the very back of the compartment you will
see two L shaped brackets. Rotate the L
brackets towards the top of the safe, so they
are released from the guides Then squeeze
the two brackets together so they almost
meet - this will immediately release the
compartment from the sides of the safe
body. Let the holster compartment open all
the way as shown in Figure 2. Rotate the L
brackets back so they are flat against the
back of the holster compartment.

INSTALLING THE BATTERY
NOTE: When installing or changing the
battery, always hold the battery connecting
cap while disconnecting or attaching the
battery. Do not pull on the wires. Doing this
could cause the power supply to become
disconnected from the lock.
NOTE: Leave the key in the lock while you
install the battery and set your combination.
This safe uses one 9 V alkaline battery.
Under normal use the battery will last about
a year.
NOTE: If the batteries are low the
combination buttons will flash red when
pushed. Replace the 9V battery with a new
alkaline battery as described below.
Locate the battery compartment at the very
back of the top of the inside of the safe,
slide off the battery cover.
