Installation

5.1

Setting up

NOTE:
Due to the weight of 50 kg, it is recommended
that two persons set up the unit.
▷ Grasp and carry machine by the bottom edges.
▷ When setting up, observe the valid country-
specific accident prevention regulations.
_ The machine is intended exclusively for use
within dry, closed rooms.
_ During operation, the room temperature must
be between 5 °C and 40 °C; avoid large varia-
tions in temperature.
_ The maximal operating elevation (standard ele-
vation zero) is 2000 m.
_ The floor covering must be made of non-flam-
mable material, so that hot material falling out
of the furnace can not inflame the covering.
_ Sufficient ventilation must be ensured at the
set-up location, in order to draw off the heat and
possibly developing exhaust gas.
_ If possible, the machine should be positioned
below an exhaust pipe or an exhaust hood (as
used for pre-heating furnaces).
_ The empty weight of the machine is 50 kg. The
set-up surface must withstand an appropriate
load.
_ For reasons of electromagnetic compatibility
(EMC), the furnace and the display should not be
placed on a metal surface.
_ The furnace must be installed on a flat, non-
combustible surface/base.

_ A clearance of at least 50 mm is to be observed
sidewards, to the rear and upwards of the fur-
nace. The lateral clearance to non-flammable
materials can be reduced to 20 cm. The space
requirements for the high-temperature sinter-
ing furnace (incl. connections) are thus:
▪ Width: 1.3 m (0.7 m for non-flammable materi-
als)
▪ Depth: 0.9 m
▪ Height: 1.0 m
_ The furnace door opens approx. 20 cm to the
front. The furnace must be set up in such a man-
ner that the open door does not pose a hazard
to passing persons.
▷ Set up the machine on a sturdy work table or
workbench.
▷ Remove all packaging material, including from
the furnace compartment.
DANGER:
Installation and repair of heating elements must
be carried out by trained and qualified person-
nel.

Electrical connection

5.2.1

Establishing the power supply

The electrical connection is to be made via a 16 A
fuse-protected socket outlet with earthing con-
tact providing 220-240 V and 50-60 Hz. This
socket outlet must be located close to the furnace
and be easily accessible.
When using an extension cord or a multiple socket
outlet, do not exceed the respective max. electri-
cal load rating.
