Select the type of scanned image file from the List Files of Type pull-down
list.
Note
If multiple images are stored in one file, select either TIFF (*.TIF) for the file
type and click the Multi-page file check box so that it is checked.

Specify the file name of the image.
• Type the file name of the image in the File Name box.
• If more than one document is to be scanned and saved, each image to a
separate file, click the Use Naming Schema check box and click the Edit
Schema button. The File Naming Schema dialog box opens so you can specify
how the multiple files are to be named. Open the Schema pull-down list and
select a file naming method. The Sample Files Generated box shows you
samples of how the files will be named with the method you have selected.
After selecting the file naming schema, click the OK button.

Open the Compression pull-down list and select the compression method.
The following compression method can be selected.
CCITT-G3: Common compression method used by facsimiles.
CCITT-G4: Compression rate higher than CCITT-G3.
JBIG:
Newer compression method used by some facsimiles machines.
JPEG:
Compression method used for full-color and grayscale images.
None:
No compression.
Note
If the Error Diffusion is selected for Mode in the Basic Setup dialog box, and
the documents are scanned using the G3 or G4 method, the file size may be
larger than if compression were not using.
