Open the Color Format pull-down list and select a setting. Use the same
setting you selected for Mode in the Basic Setup dialog box.
Note
It is important to note that if, in the scanner settings dialog box, the scan mode
is set to "Black & White" or "Color," then a failure to correctly set "TIFF" or
"JPEG" in the List Files of Type list box or a failure to correctly set "Binary"
or "24 bit color" in the Color Format list box will cause the "Black & White "
or "Color" setting for the scan mode in the scanner settings dialog box to be
ignored.

Click the OK button.
The dialog box shown below opens.

In the Scanning Options group open the Paper Source pull-down list and
select a paper source.
If you are feeding single-sided documents, select "Feeder(single sided)".
-or-
If you are feeding double-sided documents, select "Feeder(double sided)".
13.
Confirm that the ScanAhead check box is checked.
Note
If the ScanAhead check box is not checked, single page scanning is repeated,
resulting in a slower scanning speed.
14.
Set the documents in the paper source you selected in Step 12.
15.
Click the Start Scanning button to start the scanning job.
