Adjust the Flip-Up Hinge
Your Universal Flip-Up Loupe includes a variety of adjustment options that can be utilized to achieve optimal comfort and
a clear field of view.
1. Customize the declination angle of your telescopes by adjusting
the vertical slide depth. Using the optical screwdriver provided,
loosen or tighten the mounting screw until the vertical slide is
secure enough to move up and down the vertical slide mount
with some resistance when force is applied (Figure 4). It may
take several attempts to find the ideal tightness.
• Move the vertical slide up for shallower angles (Figure 4-1).
• Move the vertical slide down for steeper angles (Figure 4-2).
The mounting screw also secures the mounting clip to
your frame. While the mounting screw is loosened, use
one hand to keep the mounting clip secured to the frame.
2. Fine-tune the declination angle of your telescopes by tilting
the flip-up hinge at the lower hinge joint (Figure 5). Once you
have found the ideal declination angle, use the optical screwdriver
provided to tighten the screws at the lower and upper hinge joints.
When properly adjusted, the lower hinge joint should be fully
tightened, and the upper hinge joint should rotate with some
resistance when force is applied. It may take several attempts to
find the ideal tightness.
3. Fine-tune the pupillary distance of your telescopes by rotating
the pupillary distance (PD) knob on the flip-up hinge to adjust
the telescopes wider or more narrow (Figure 6).
Do not loosen the telescope convergence screws (Figure 7).
Your telescopes have been converged according to your working
distance. If these screws become loose, in the U.S. or Canada,
please call one of our Technical Support Specialists to assist
you. Outside the U.S. and Canada, please call your authorized
Orascoptic distributor.
