OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The IDRA 2 industrial safety helmet with integrated poly-
carbonate facial shield has been designed for your safety
and comfort when working on electrical installations in
low-voltage electricity.
The helmet and its shield have met the EU type examination in
conformity with Regulation 2016/425 and pursuant to the stand-
ards EN 397, EN 50365 (helmet) and EN 166, EN 170 (shield).
According to standard EN 397, the helmet protects the wearer
against falling objects and accidental contact of short duration
with energized electrical conductors up to 440 V AC.
According to standard EN 50365, the helmet is electrically
insulating to prevent the passage of a dangerous current to the
body through the head as a result of working on or near appli-
ances not exceeding 1000 V AC or 1500 V DC.
According to standard EN 166, the IDRA 2 shield mounted on
the IDRA 2 helmet protects the user against low-voltage elec-
tric arc short-circuits (the requirement for the minimum shield
thickness of 1.4 mm was established based on the results of
electrical arc tests conducted with a current of 380-400 V, 12 kA
intensity, 50 Hz frequency and a duration of one second at a
distance of 300 mm).
Given the characteristics of the helmet and the shield, the
IDRA 2 helmet can be used in various building trades, public
and industry works, and wherever the wearer must protect itself
against falling objects and splashes to the face.
CAUTION
In cases where there is doubt about the protective effec-
tiveness of the IDRA 2 helmet and shield in connection
with a given job, the user must consult the safety engineer
in his company or any other authorized person.
PRECAUTIONS BEFORE FIRST USE
In the event of electric arc short-circuit, dangerous pres-
sure wave, dangerous sound wave, splashes of molten
metal and other hot solids, extreme heat, extreme light and
toxic gases, irreversible body damage may occur including
