18. RISK ASSESSMENT
Possible risks when using the BC
NOTE: Risk assessment is not an exact science, as there is a certain degree of subjectivity
in the process
The BC is a diving equipment and as such the only foreseeable condition is
restricted to diving in a sub-aqueous (i.e. water) medium.
The buoyancy compensator provides the diver with means for controlling
buoyancy and in cases of emergency for returning at the surface.
The BC is designed to ensure a minimum level of safe operation of an
inflatable buoyancy compensator for diving use and carrying system,
complying with the requirements and tests set out in the harmonized standard
EN1809:2014+A1:2016.
POSSIBLE ALLERGY RISKS
A small percentage of the population suffers from allergies to fabrics such
as those used in the BC. The allergic symptoms can manifest themselves
as mild to severe skin irritation or itching. It is the responsibility of the user
to determine whether he or she suffers from allergies or notices while
using the BC. It should not be used until the problem can be resolved.
The REBEL jacket is not designed for use on nacked skin and may only be
wear with a suitable diving suit to avoid rubbing the skin.
