The following describes how to connect Ariston Net / Chaff olink to the internet,
using two diff erent procedures, depending on whether you are using an ADSL or
GPRS gateway.
6.1 Connection via ADSL Gateway
Ariston Net / Chaff olink is able to use
a LAN or Wi-Fi connection in order
to connect to an ADSL router. If you
are using a WiFi connection, skip to
step 2 of the following confi guration
procedure.
1. With Ariston Net / Chaff olink off
and not connected to the mains
power, open the front panel by
unscrewing the two screws and
connect the LAN cable to its
connector (A). Connect the other
end of the cable to the ADSL
router and re-close the front panel.
2. Provide mains power to the
gateway and press the ON/OFF
button.
For several minutes the gateway
performs its startup procedure,
during which all the LEDs fl ash in
sequence in blue. On completion,
the WEB led remains stable on
red while the BUS and Serial LEDs
remain green.
3. Once you have checked that the
ADSL router is running, press
and hold the initial confi guration
button (for at least 5 seconds)
until the WEB LED fl ashes green.
At this point the gateway has
created a new WiFi network that
remains active for 10 minutes,
after which you will need to repeat
the procedure.
