Supine Application
1. Using proper c-spine precautions, position infant with arms to the
side, shoulders down, and head aligned centrally (nose over belly
button) (Fig. 1).
2. Carefully log roll the infant and center the device behind the head and
torso (Fig. 2). Ensure the padding extends beyond all edges of the
plastic.
3. Apply the head strap. Feed the strap through the slot on the opposite
side of the patient's forehead and then back upon itself to attach the
end to the hook and loop fastener (Fig. 3).
4. The length of the leg strap is adjustable to accommodate varying body
lengths. To adjust, lift up the blue pad at bottom of the device and
unbutton the bottom strap. Refasten using the appropriate hole for
the patient's body length (Fig. 4).
5. Secure the leg and waist straps in three steps:
(1) Hook and loop Waist Strap;
(2) Leg Strap: Attach hook and loop to hook on Waist Strap;
(3) Hook and loop Waist Strap. The scratchy hook should
always face away from the patient's skin (Fig. 5).
For additional stability, the device may be used in conjunction with the
Miami Jr.
P0 size Front.

6. To apply the Miami Jr front, Flare the sides of the front out, slide it up
the chest wall and scoop it up under the patient's chin. Sides of the
collar front should be oriented up, off the trapezius, and toward the
ears. (Fig. 6).
7. While holding the Front securely, curl the ends snugly against the
patient's neck (Fig. 7). With the front of the collar inside the device,
apply the hook and loop strap and secure the opposite side of the
collar in the same fashion. Tighten straps alternately to an equal
length on both sides.
8. Hook and Loop Straps must be aligned to the Front adhesive sections
(Fig. 8). Excess may be trimmed.
Note: Device application must be secure to ensure proper fit, maintain
alignment, and prevent the chin from slipping inside.
