5.10
Safety systems
¶
On erection and during operation, ensure proper
operation of the safety systems and perform checks
regularly and after any malfunctioning.
¶
Only ever have the lifting platform maintained
and repaired by Beissbarth customer service or
an authorized service agent with appropriate
certification.
¶
Always use genuine replacement parts. The
installation of parts from other manufacturers
renders the type approval and any warranty claims
invalid.
¶
In particular, make sure operation of the safety
systems listed below is always checked after any
malfunctioning.

EMERGENCY
By way of the lockable yellow and red master
STOP function
switch.
Deadman
The lifting (o) and lowering (u) functions
control
are only active while ever the control lever is
being actuated and held in position.
A locking handle prevents unintentional
actuation of the control lever.
Limit switch
A switch rod which actuates a limit switch
is provided at the overhead beam to stop
tall vehicles coming into inadvertent contact
with the overhead beam.
Synchronization
Synchronization of the two lifting carriages is
control
ensured by two steel cables.
Locking pawls
Each column is provided with a locking pawl.
The locking pawls engage automatically
when the control lever is no longer actuated
to stop unintentional lowering of the lifting
platform.
Swivel arm
The support arms are locked automatically
locking
as of a lifting height of approx. 20 cm. This
prevents swivelling of the support arms and
thus possible slipping of the mounts.
Foot protection
Foot protection is provided by deflectors
attached to the support arms.
Overload
The drive motor is protected by a circuit
protection for
breaker (QF1) in the electrics box. The
drive motor
circuit breaker can be reset mechanically.
Pressure relief
The hydraulic system is protected by
valve
a pressure relief valve.
