4.6 BRAKES
To brake the rotovator completely, pull in levers n.8-9 fig.1 at the same time.
If you pull in one lever, the machine will turn on its own axis allowing the
operator to switch directions quickly.
DANGER: If only one wheel is braked, the machine turns at double the normal
driving speed. Therefore, before applying the brake, decrease the machine's
forward speed as needed.
For on-road driving both brake levers must be coupled together.
4.7 ELECTRIC SYSTEM
(Optional)
4.7.1 Controls
See fig.7
1 Starter switch
2 Light switch
3 Red battery charge warning light
4 Single-pole plug
5 Red low engine oil pressure warning light.
6 Fuse box (8A).
4.7.2 Starting the engine
Follow the instructions given in sub-section 4.1 above.
Ignition switch (see fig.9)
0 = OFF - no circuit live
1 = Circuit live
2 = Start engine. Release the key when the engine has started and the key will
click back to "1"
P = Parking lights (with light switch ON).
When the engine is running, the key should be left in "1" to recharge the battery
and turn on all the indicator lights.
When the engine is stopped, turn the key to "0" and remove it from the ignition.
4.7.3 Fuses and battery
Before changing a, eliminate the cause of the short circuit.
When changing fuses, always use the same kind of fuse rated at 8 Ampère.
Check the electrolyte level in the battery and top up as needed so that the
elements are always covered. Top up with distilled water, with the engine off and
far from naked flames. Check the clamps for tightness and grease them with
vaseline. Keep the battery clean and, if it is not to be used for some time, store it
in a dry place.
