TRIM / PRUNE A TREE
Do not operate the tool while in a tree, on a ladder or other unstable work surface, or in any uncomfortable position.
You may lose control of the tool that can cause serious injury. Do not extend your arms above your shoulders when
using the saw. Seek professional help if you are facing conditions beyond your ability.
Trimming a tree is the process of cutting branches from a living tree. Make sure you are in a stable and secure position.
Keep your feet apart. Divide your weight evenly across both feet.
TO TRIM A BRANCH (PRUNE)
1.
Make the first cut six inches from the trunk of the tree at
the bottom of the branch. Use the top of the guide bar to
make this cut. Cut a third of the diameter of the branch.
2.
Then place it two to four inches (50-100mm) further away
from the branch and make the second cut above the
branch. Continue cutting until the branch is cut.
3.
Make the third cut as close as possible to the trunk of
the tree at the bottom of the heel/end of the branch. Use
the top of the guide bar to make this cut. Cut one third
through the heel diameter.
4.
Make the fourth cut directly over the third cut. Heels to
reach the third cut, which will eliminate the heel of the
branch.
CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
1.
WORKING POSITION. Maintain proper position and balance, and do not overextend yourself. Wear safety
goggles, non-slip shoes and rubber gloves when cutting. Hold the tool firmly with both hands and turn on
the tool. Always hold the tool as shown in the pictures, with one hand on the handle of the tool body and
the other on the front handle. Never hold the tool by the blade guard.
2.
PRUNE NEW SHOOTS. Make a wide brushing/sweeping motion, using the blade through the twigs is more
effective. A slight downward inclination of the blade in the direction of movement gives the best cut.
3.
LEVELED / LEVELED HEDGES. To obtain exceptionally even hedges, you can stretch a piece of string along
the extension of the hedges as a guide.
