ND 1723-2 61-614 Instructions
CAUTION: Discharge all capacitors and inductors before taking
current measurements.
To Measure DC milliamps (DCmA):
• Set the rotary switch to the 250m range in the DCmA function.
• Insert the red test lead fully into the V Ω A input jack (lower right jack on the
meter) and fully seat the black test lead into the COM input jack on the meter.
• Hold the test leads behind the finger guards and apply the lead tips in series
with the circuit under test.
Note: The current should first enter through the red lead in order for the meter
to indicate in an "upscale" direction.
• Follow the MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE on page 4 to maximize accuracy.
• Read the DC mA measurement using the mA labeled black arc (second arc
from the top).
CAUTION: The 20A range on DCA function is unprotected and has
a very low internal resistance. Do not attempt to take a current
measurement if the current is unknown or above 20ADC.
Discharge all capacitors and inductors before taking current
measurements.
To Measure DC amps (DCA):
• Set the rotary switch to the 20A range in the DCA.
• Insert the red test lead fully into the DC20A input jack (top right jack on the
meter) and fully seat the black test lead into the COM input jack on the meter.
• Hold the test leads behind the finger guards and apply the lead tips in series
with the circuit under test.
• Follow the MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE on page 4 to maximize accuracy.
• Read the DCA measurement using the DCA labeled black arc (fifth arc from
the top).
