Follow the numbered steps below for a correct installation:
1.
Check that the voltage and power are appropriate for this appliance; you can verify
this information on the product data label (placed on one side of the heater).
2.
Install the water heater as close as possible to the electric current (charging center), with
the voltage that will be used, which must be accessible and must include a switch break
or QO breaker.
3.
As a safety measure it is obligatory to install a 30 Amp thermo-magnetic circuit breaker
independently of the main line, for automatic deactivation in the case of an electrical
fault or imbalance.
4.
Extend or lead the independent cables from the power supply through a conduit tube
or polyduct to the heater.
5.
Use No. 12 caliber THW cable for the connections, which must be made with a interlace
cable tie. We recommend using the colors used in the water heater wiring.
6.
Ensure and verify that the green physical ground cable (which must be yellow-green
color) is correctly connected to the terminal at the charging center.
7.
Insulate or tape the moorings with non-inflammable plastic insulating tape.
8.
Fill the heater with water to allow the air to exit. Open a hot water service, until water
comes out the service line.
9.
Once the above has been completed, you can power the heater to start its operation.
Never omit the electric circuit's ground connection. See Figure 5 (Grounding Diagram). We
recommend connecting the green ground wire to a copper rod (copperweld).
10. Grounding is obligatory for this device, and the cable (which should be a yellow-green
color) must be attached to the ground connection.
The use of multi-contact connectors, extensions or adapters is not allowed.
The water installation, heating and gas tubing cannot be used for the grounding
connection of this appliance.
