Installing Power Supplies
Power supply units are hot swappable. A failed power supply can be replaced while the appliance is pow-
ered by the other power supply unit.

Caution: Never remove a power supply that is currently powering the appliance (powered on). Doing
so will cause the system to fail and potentially lead to disk corruption.
To install a replacement power supply:
1 Locate the power supply unit you want to replace by number (using the appliance software) or by
verifying the power supply status LEDs (see "Power Supply Units (1–2)" on page 19).
2 Unplug the power cord from the power supply unit you want to replace. Unplug it first from the AC
power source and then unplug it from the power supply unit.
3 Press the power supply's latch (to the left) while pulling the unit straight out by its handle.
4 Insert the replacement power supply in the empty bay. Insert it all the way until it clicks.
5 Connect the power cord to a valid power source and connect the other end to the power supply
replacement unit. Verify the power supply's status LED turns solid green after it boots.
