 The minimum weight of lifting load should be equal to 5% of the clamp's WLL (e.g. if clamps WLL
is 1000 kg, then minimum weight is 50 kg). This value is given for a clamp in perfect working
order and respecting Tractel Solutions SAS conditions of use and recommendations. Consult
Tractel in case of loads with weight inferior to the minimum recommended value.
 Lifting clamps are not suitable for creating permanent joints.
 Working temperature: -20° to +90°C.
Handling accessory to lift metal drums with edges, diameter 600 mm, open or closed in the vertical
position. This model is fitted with a safety locking device via the operating handle.
1. Suspend the VLF grab by its hook ring (1).
2. Position the grab vertically with respect to the drum.
3. Hold the VLF grab by its locking handle (4).
4. Bring the clamping jaws of the arms (2) and (3) into contact with the edge of the drum.
5. Let go off the locking handle (4).
6. Lifting can be performed whereby the safety device is activated.
7. To release the grab, lift it up by the hook ring (1) end and push up the locking handle (4).
8. Free the drum.
 For metal drums with edges only – not suitable for plastic drums.
 Never turn drums with VLF grabs.
 Working temperature: -20° to +100°C.
Grab for lifting standard metal drums in horizontal position (standard drums with edges on each face).
This model is fitted with an open position locking system to set down the drum without having to operate
the grab.
1. Suspend the grab by its hook ring (3) in the open position - lock (2) activated.
2. Position the grab vertically with respect to the drum (in the horizontal position), then lower it until
it is applied against it.
3. Lift up the lock (2) manually whilst starting off the lifting, hold it in the up position to prevent it
from locking against the fastening screw (5).
4. The grab positions itself in the centre line of the drum.
5. Release the lock (2) and perform the handling of the drum.
6. When setting down, lower the grab until the lock (2) is automatically activated on the fastening
screw (5).
7. The grab is then locked in the open position. It can be lifted up ready to be used again.
 For metal drums with edges only – not suitable for plastic drums.
 For safety's sake, carry the grab by its red hook ring, in the open position, i.e. lock activated.
 Never turn drums with HF grabs.
