Solar module user manual
Please carefully read the following installation and safety instructions.
Non-compliance with these instructions may void the module warranty.
The modules have been qualified for Application Class A. Panels rated for use
in Application Class A may be used in systems operating at greater than 50 V
DC or 240 W, where general contact access is anticipated.
General safety instructions
WARNING!
Before installing the module, check that it is mechanically
sound. Only use modules that are not damaged.
WARNING!
Never leave a module unsupported or unsecured. If the module falls
down, the glass can break. A module with broken glass cannot be
repaired and may no longer be used. Keep children away from the
system while transporting and installing mechanical and
electrical components.
|
Leave the module in its packaging until installed.
|
Do not let the module fall.
|
Do not let any objects fall onto the module and do not stand or step on the
module.
|
Do not hold the module by its junction socket or electrical connections when
lifting, transporting or mounting it.
|
Only use the module for its intended purpose.
|
Do not dismantle the module and do not remove any mounted type plates or parts.
|
Do not apply paint or adhesive agents to the rear of the module.
|
Do not drill holes into the module frame or into the glass surface and do not
perform any welding work on the module.
|
Do not artificially concentrate sunlight onto the module.
|
Keep a copy of the instruction manual in the direct vicinity of the photovoltaic
system.
|
Cover the module with an opaque material before making electrical connections.
|
Remove all metallic jewelry or watches prior to installing this module.
|
The mounting frame and its component parts must be made of durable,
corrosion- and UV-resistant material.
.

Electrical values

All relevant electrical values are recorded on the label located on
the rear of the module.
Under normal conditions, a photovoltaic module is likely to experience conditions that
produce more current and / or voltage than reported as Standard Test Conditions.
Accordingly, the values of Isc and Voc marked on this module should be multiplied by
a factor of 1.25 when determining component voltage ratings, conductor current
ratings, fuse sizes, and size of controls connected to the PV output"
Installation
|
Observe all the current local standards, construction regulations and accident
prevention regulations during installation.
|
Only persons with basic knowledge of electrical engineering, electronics and
mechanics may perform installation or conversion work. The installer should
assume the risk of all injury that might occur during installation, including without
limitation, the risk of electric shock.
|
The necessity of grounding work should be checked regarding national electric
codes and regulations before being undertaken.
|
Repairs may only be undertaken by an Conergy authorized technician.
|
When installed on a roof, the assembly is to be mounted over a fi re resistant
roof covering rated for the application.
|
Junction boxes must not be subject to any type of pressure when installing the
module in a support structure. No item thereof should touch the junction box
Additional loads due to PV system installation should be verified by a structural
engineer.
|
Install the system using the mounting system (Appendix A) recommended by the
manufacturer. Only use mounting systems which can support expected additional
loads (snow, wind etc.). Ensure that other system components do not cause any
detrimental mechanical or electrical disturbances to the module.
|
Use only equipment suitable for use in photovoltaic systems (cables connectors,
etc.).
|
When mounting the module, use the mounting holes in the frame or clamps in the
clamping areas indicated.
|
Only work in dry conditions, with a dry module and using dry tools.
|
Do not install the module near highly flammable gases or vapors, as sparks can
occur.
CAUTION!
Ensure that there is sufficient protection to avoid
contact with live parts. Only use insulated tools.
CAUTION!
If the module has drainage holes in the frame, these
must not be covered with parts of the mounting system.
Positioning the modules
Select an installation location with maximum sunlight during all
seasons and avoid shaded areas.
In northern hemisphere, position the modules facing true south. In southern
hemisphere, position the modules facing true north. Determine the optimum tilt
angle in accordance with the latitude of the installation location. For detailed
information refer to standard solar PV installation guides. To obtain this
information, please ask your specialized solar energy dealer.
Cabling
WARNING!
Risk of fire due to arcing! Do not disconnect any
connection under load!
|
Install all cabling in accordance with current local standards. Protect the cables
from damage. The minimum bending radius is 34mm. The connections must be
mechanically and electrically sound.
|
If modules are connected in a series, total voltage is equal to the sum of individual
voltages. So desired voltage output can be produced. Only connect modules with
the same current in a series. Number of modules in series connection: The
modules may be wired in series to produce the desired voltage output. Do not
exceed the maximum system voltage indicated in the data sheet or on the module
label.
|
If modules are connected in parallel, total current is equal to the sum of individual
currents. So desired current output can be produced. Only connect modules with
the same voltage in parallel. Number of strings in parallel connection: The
modules may be combined in parallel to produce the desired current output.
Please refer to the applicable regional and local codes for any limitations. A series
protection fuse of 15A is recommended for each string when module strings are
parallel connected.
|
Make sure that the polarity is correct.
Maintenance and care
Check electrical and mechanical connections periodically to verify
that they are secure and undamaged. To clean the module glass
surface, use tepid water suitable to the temperature of the module
and a soft cloth or sponge. If required, use a mild (neutral) liquid
cleanser. Never use a cleaner that contains abrasive substances!
Clean module when it's not heated and during cloudy days only.
Shutdown
WARNING!
Danger resulting from DC voltage! Risk of an electrical
shock! Do not touch bare connection parts.
1. Cover the module with an opaque material before braking
electrical connections.
2. Make sure that the entire photovoltaic system is voltage-free.
3. The system is now out of operation and can be
dismantled. In doing so, please follow the corresponding
safety instructions as required during installation.
