Safety hood for grinding
Intended for use in work with roughing discs, mul-
ti-disc grinding wheels, diamond cut-off wheels.

Press and hold locking lever [17].
▸
Push safety hood [13] onto the spindle neck as
shown.
▸
Adjust the position of the safety hood to the posi-
tion of the hand on the machine. Turn the safety
hood until it is in the desired position.
The closed side of the safety hood must be facing

towards the operator.
▸
Release the locking lever and turn the safety hood
until the locking lever audibly engages.
▸
Check that the safety hood is secure: The lever
must be engaged and it must not be possible to
turn the safety hood.
Cut-off safety hood clip for cut-off grinding
Intended for use with cut-off wheels, diamond cut-off
wheels.
▸
With the cut-off safety hood clip [12], the safety
hood becomes a cut-off safety hood.
Attaching grinding wheel
Risk of severe injuries.
Pull the mains plug out of the plug

socket before all tooling operations.
The machine must be switched off
¾
and at a standstill.
Locking spindle
▸
Press in spindle locking knob [16] and turn the
spindle by hand until the spindle locking knob
audibly engages.
Fitting abrasive wheel or disc
▸
Push supporting flange [14] onto the spindle.
It is fitted correctly when it cannot be turned on

the spindle.
▸
Push abrasive wheel [11] onto the supporting
flange [14].
• The grinding wheel must rest uniformly on the
supporting flange.
• The sheet metal flange of cut-off wheels must rest
on the supporting flange.
Risk of severe injuries
For safety reasons, using the cut-off

wheels.

Tightening the two-hole nut
Attention!
The 2 sides of the two-hole nut [9] are different.
Screw the two-hole nut [9] onto the spindle as
follows:
With thin grinding wheels
• The collar of the two-hole nut [9] faces upwards
so that the thin grinding wheel can be securely
clamped.
With thick grinding wheels
• The collar of the two-hole nut [9] faces down-
wards so that the two-hole nut can be securely
screwed onto the spindle.

Lock the spindle.
▸
Tighten the two-hole nut in clockwise direction
using the two-hole wrench [8].
Loosening the two-hole nut
▸
Lock the spindle.
▸
Unscrew the two-hole nut [9] in anti-clockwise
direction using the two-hole wrench [8].
Quick-clamping nut
(depending on configuration)
Tightening the quick-clamping nut
Attention!
Use the quick-clamping nut [10] only on machines
with "quick-clamping system".
Attention!
If the abrasive wheel [11] is thicker than 6.8 mm
in the clamping area, the quick-clamping nut must
not be used!
Use the two-hole nut [9] with two-hole
¾
wrench [8].

Lock the spindle.
▸
Push quick-clamping nut [10] onto the
spindle [15] so that the two lugs engage in the
two grooves of the spindle.
▸
Tightening the quick-clamping nut in clockwise
direction by hand.
▸
Tighten the quick-clamping nut further by turning
the abrasive wheel firmly in clockwise direction.
