Troubleshooting Chart

Display
Probable Cause
• Control is in Power Saving Mode,
(See page 21en).
• Loss of connection between
Blank
Power Module and Dash Module.
Sleep Mode
Display
• Loss of power to Power Module.
Screen is blank
• Loss of ground to Power Module.
• Vehicle battery input exceeds
17.0V.
• Trailer is disconnected from tow
vehicle.
• Trailer connector is dirty, corroded

or bent/mis-aligned terminals.
Disconnected
• Trailer or tow vehicle connector
not wired correctly.
Flashes for 15 sec.
With trailer
• Open on electric brake wire (bro-

• Loss of ground to brake magnets

• Repair/replace electric brake wire
as needed.
• Repair ground to brake magnets
as needed.

• Locate and replace defective
Brake Magnet.
• Locate and repair fauly brake
wire.
• Decrease electrical load.
• Thermal Overload - Reduced

• Use Tekonsha approved test light
or tester.
• Inspect and repair trailer connec-
tor, if needed.
• Inspect and repair/replace electric
brake wire.
