Before initiating the production cycle it is essential to run a few test welds to determine the correct adjustment
of the generator and the calibration of the gun (spring force) as follows:
•
Fit the chosen stud into the gripper (pre-adjusted as outlined on page 42)
•
Turn on the generator by means of the illuminated switch 3 (Fig.5). The ON LED 11 (Fig.5) "machine powered"
lights up.
• The PRO indication lights up on the display and then the voltage value of the last weld flashes until the capacitors
are fully charged.
•
The time for charging the capacitors, from 1 to a few seconds, depends on the diameter of the pins that will
conform to the value set by means of the control unit (6) and is suggested in (Fig.5) page 39. The charge value
is shown on the display.
•
Arrange the base sheet exactly as it will be arranged under work conditions: thickness, area of the ground
connections, workpiece size, quality of the material, etc. Hold the gun and press it on the sheet checking that the
axis is normal as compared to the plane (fig. 13).
Run a few welds adjusting the power using keys + and – on the control unit and regulating the gun's force by means
of adjuster 7 (see Fig. 6 page 40) until you achieve perfect welds. Refer to table 2 for these operations.
