3. Turn the SENS control clockwise to turn on the appliance. The LED light
lights up once and the buzzer sounds briefly. Set the SENS control to the
middle position.
4. Test the ALL METAL mode. To do this, set the SENS control to A-M.
Move the three metal samples over the edge of the search coil. The unit
responds to all samples. The LED flashes and a beep sounds for all metal
samples.
5. Test the DISC function. Move both the SENS and DISC knobs to the centre
position. Move the metal samples 8-10 cm above the edge of the search
coil. The device strikes at the can end and the silver coin. The LED flashes
and the signal tone sounds. If you move the iron nail over the search coil,
you will only hear a short tone twice in succession, which signals that the
iron nail is rejected.
