IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To disconnect, turn any control to the off position, then remove plug from wall outlet.
4. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer
may result in fire, electrical shock or injury to persons.
5. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
6. Do not use outdoors.
7. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or the appliance in
water or any other liquid.
8. Use only water in this appliance! Do not put any other liquids or foods in the Water
Reservoir.
9. Turn off and unplug the coffee brewer when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool
before attaching or removing parts and before cleaning the appliance.
10. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions or is damaged in any manner. Contact your Mr. Coffee
to arrange for replacement or repair. Do not attempt to replace or splice a damaged
cord.
11. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
12. This appliance is not to be used by children or by people with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities.
13. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. Children
should not play with the appliance.
14. Do not open the brewer while brewing is in progress. Keep reservoir lid closed during
brew cycle. All lids should be closed during use.
15. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
16. Scalding may occur if the K-Cup
holder is removed during or immediately after the

brewing cycles. Contents may be hot. Allow to cool before opening the K-Cup
17. Do not brew without K-Cup
