Cleaning the Thermal Jug Thoroughly
Coffee grounds and coffee oil residues can contaminate the thermal jug over time.
It should therefore be thoroughly cleaned regularly (at least every 4 weeks).
We recommend that you do this using BEEM Premium Cleaning Tablets. They will remove the resi-
dues quickly and easily. In addition, the cleaning tablets are gentle on the material and guarantee
food-safe and environmentally friendly cleaning – ensuring an authentic coffee fl avour. BEEM Pre-
mium Cleaning Tablets can be obtained from selected specialist stockists, directly via our website
www.beem.de or from our customer service department on request.
Cleaning with the BEEM Premium Cleaning Tablets
1. Dissolve a BEEM Premium cleaning tablet in 60 – 70 °C of hot water.
2. Pour the solution into the thermal jug.
3. Lock the thermal jug and move it so that the entire interior is moistened with the cleaning
solution.
4. Give the cleaning solution a few minutes to work.
5. Empty out the cleaning solution, and thoroughly rinse the thermal jug several times.
The BEEM Cleaning Tablets do not have any descaling effect!
Descaling
Limescale deposits have an adverse effect not only on the quality of the coffee and the water,
but they also cause power losses and shorten the lifespan of the device. The thicker a limescale
layer is, the more diffi cult it is to remove.
We therefore recommend regularly removing limescale deposits with a descaling agent in
accordance with the water quality in your area and how often the device is used (approx. every
2 – 6 weeks).
The fi rst indications that descaling is required are a large amount of steam being produced and
slower brewing of the coffee.
For descaling we recommend the BEEM Premium Descaler Concentrate. The effi cient, food-safe
and environmentally friendly BEEM Premium Descaler Concentrate is available from selected spe-
cialist stockists, via our website www.beem.de or from our customer service department on request.
Descaling with the BEEM Premium Descaler Concentrate
1. Fill the water tank (11) up to the 8-cup mark with a concentrate/water solution of no more
than 1:20 (one part concentrate to 20 parts water).
2. Press the CALC button (23) to switch on the device and start the descaling process. The
operating lamp lights up.
While the machine is in descaling mode, keep pouring water into the water tank until
the programme has ended and control light goes out on the display. During this time, the
programme must not be stopped by an empty water tank. This method has been chosen to
ensure that no descaler residues remain in the machine after the descaling.
3. At the end of this process, the device switches off automatically.
