3. Rules of use

This product is intended for treatment of sea water (for the motor cooling system)
to remove debris and grit.
The user is responsible for any damage caused by non-intended use.

3.1. Preparations for operation

INSTALLATION:
1. Install the filter above the boat's water line and on a vertical bulkhead.
2. Install a cut-off valve for the outboard water scoop.
3. Use flexible hoses to plumb the outboard water scoop to the filter and the filter
to the engine.
4. Press-fitting of the hose couplings should only be made easier by using water
and/or soap. Do not use any lubricants or oils.
5. Secure every hose connection with stainless steel hose clamps (not included).
6. Mind the correct direction of flow through the filter.
7. A poor seal of the closed filter cover will cause the sea water pump to entrain
air, resulting in overheating of the engine.

3.2. Cleaning and maintenance

a) Routinely inspect the filter for dirt. The filter cover does not need to be opened
to inspect the interior. If there is much debris accumulated, clean the filter.
