| Multifunctional wheelchair
1. Preface
Dear user,
You have decided on a high-quality Bischoff & Bischoff wheelchair, and
we would like to thank you for your trust.
This Instruction manual contains all the information necessary to
operate the S-VR wheelchair.
Your wheelchair is designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
Please read and follow the Instruction manual carefully before using
your new wheelchair for the first time. The Instruction manual is
an integral and necessary component of the wheelchair. Keep the
Instruction manual where you can refer to it and if you transfer the
wheelchair, give the manual to the new owner.
For visually impaired users, this document is available as a PDF file at
our website www.bischoff-bischoff.com.
Note!
In spite of careful research and editing, incorrect information may
have crept into our Instruction manuals. We reserve the right to make
technical modifications. Illustrations may include accessories. The
current version of each Instruction manual is ready for download on

2. Important safety instructions
2.1. General safety instructions
•
To avoid falls and dangerous situations, first practice driving your
new wheelchair on level, unobstructed ground. An attendant is
recommended.
•
Before operating the wheelchair, check that all attached parts are
correctly fastened.
•
Make sure that the screw axles are located properly in the axle
holders in order to prevent a risk of injury.
•
Only lift the wheelchair using firmly installed parts (see Chapter
7.3).
•
The risk of tipping over to any side increases with changes in
balance through body movements or loading the wheelchair.
•
The wheelchair may not be used for transport of more than one
person or any additional load. Please respect the purpose of the
product (see Chapter 2.6)!
•
When carrying out setting or adjustment work on the wheelchair
there is a risk that body parts could get pinched!
•
Keep items of clothing and body parts away from gaps between
moving parts!
•
When going up or down obstacles (steps, etc.) call in an attendant.
•
Only go up or down steps or large obstacles with the help of at
least two attendants (see Chapter 7.3). Use equipment such as
ramps, lifts or stair-climbing devices, if these are available. When
going up or down obstacles, the anti-tip wheels can be used as
tipping aids.
•
When driving on downhill/uphill slopes, please be aware that even
at a few degrees, there is a risk of tipping over. We recommend the
use of anti-tip wheels (see Chapter 6.8.4).
•
Avoid collisions of any type! Avoid hitting obstacles (steps, kerbs)
at full speed or jumping down steps.
•
Only drive on a level, firm surface.
•
When transferring to or from the wheelchair, apply both parking
brakes (see Chapter 6.8.1).
•
Replace the tyres as soon as the tread is worn down.
