6.4. Sideguards
The sideguards on the S-VR are detachable.
6.4.1. Removing the sideguards

Rotate the star screw on the handlebar stem of the wheelchair to
the left to undo it (Fig. 14).
•
Now pull the sideguard upwards to remove it (Fig. 14).

6.4.2. Fitting the sideguards
•
Insert the sideguard into the frame receiver at the front and back
(Fig. 15).
•
Re-tighten the star screw by turning it to the right.

Never use the sideguards to carry the wheelchair!
6.5. Backrest

The angle of the backrest can be infinitely adjusted from -4° forwards
to 30° or 82° backwards. The conversion from 30° to 82° or vice
versa is not carried out at the factory, as the HMV no. is only valid for
backrest angles up to 30°.

When fitting the sideguards, make sure that
clothing or other items cannot be trapped.
Before using for the first time, check that
the sideguards are firmly in place!

6.5.1. Angle adjustment of the
backrest

Apply the parking brakes
•
Press both Bowden cable levers of the compressed spring system
and keep them pressed (Fig. 16)
•
Adjust the backrest angle as required
•
Release the Bowden cable lever (Fig. 16).
6.6. Backrest extension/
Headrests
As standard, the S-VR wheelchair is fitted with a large backrest
extension which can be used as a headrest. This is inserted from above
into the guide provided and secured with the star screw (Fig. 17).
6.7. Wheels and tyres
Drive wheels
PU tyres are fitted on your S-VR as standard. When worn or the tread
is worn down or defective, please ask your specialist dealer to service
them.
Swivel wheels
PU tyres are fitted on your S-VR as standard. When worn or the tread
is worn down or defective, please ask your specialist dealer to service
them.
If the drive wheel or front wheels are worn or
defective, ask your dealer to service them!
