5/ OPERATION
5.1 BEFORE CONNECTING THE FREEZER
Final Check
Before connecting your freezer to the power supply, check that:
■ IMPORTANT: If the freezer has been moved (or just installed), wait at least 4 hours
for oil inside to flow back into the compressor before plugging it.
■ The interior is dry and air can circulate freely around all sides of the appliance.
■ Clean the interior as recommended under "CLEANING AND CARE".
5.2 CONNECTING THE FREEZER
1. Make sure that the Thermostat knob is turned to the lowest setting ("1"), then
connect the power plug firmly into a power outlet. The red Power on indicator
will illuminate to indicate that there is power supply. The green Compressor on
indicator will illuminate and the compressor will start running.
2. After powering the freezer on, we recommend turning the Thermostat knob to
the Quick Freeze position (highest setting "7") for about 3 hours before loading
food.
3. It is recommended to check the storage temperature with a freezer thermometer.
Before storing pre-frozen food into the freezer, check that the correct storage
temperature has been reached and then transfer the frozen food into the freezer.
4. IMPORTANT: Once the 3 hours of Quick Freeze have elapsed, lower the
Thermostat knob to the required setting.
NOTE:
■ You will hear a noise as the compressor starts up. The liquid and gases sealed within
the refrigeration system may also give rise to noise, whether the compressor is
running or not, which is quite normal.
■ If you find the freezer door difficult to open just after you have closed it, don't
worry. This is due to the pressure difference which will equalize and allow the
door to open normally after a few minutes.
