The noise emission value given in these instructions has been measured in accordance with a standardised meas-
uring procedure and may be used to compare power tools. It may also be used for a preliminary estimation of noise
emissions. The noise emission value given represents the main applications of the power tool. However, if the power
tool is used for other applications, with different application tools or is poorly maintained, the noise emission value
may differ. This may significantly increase noise emissions over the total working period. To estimate noise emissions
accurately, the times when the tool is switched off, or when it is running but not actually being used, should also be
taken into account. This may significantly reduce noise emissions over the total working period.

Satisfy yourself that the machine has not been damaged in transit. Check that the nominal voltage is the same as
the voltage indicated on the rating plate.
4.1

Electrical connection

According the European standards EN62841-1 and EN62841-3-6, the electrical connection of diamond core drills
with water supply must be operated via a residual current device (RCD, PRCD) and to a properly earthed socket.
In accordance with these regulations, the DKS32/DKS32S is fitted with an inline protector (PRCD) mounted in the
cord. This contains both, RCD protection and undervoltage tripping.
The PRCD must be switched on using the RESET key after the power plug has been inserted into the socket outlet.
In the event of a voltage drop, the PRCD will switch off and must then be switched on again once the power supply
has been reestablished.
The rated current, i.e. the fault current at which the PRCD switches off, is 10 mA.
The PRCD must not lie in water. It must be checked for perfect functioning always before starting the
work. Never operate a diamond core drilling machine without RCD or PRCD directly from the mains
system (machines without PRCD: Never operate the machine without an isolating transformer).
4.2

Water connection

Connect the water to the water supply via the plug-in nipple.
Attention: max. water pressure 3 bar.
Please use a GARDENA coupling as the connecting piece to the machine. This can be obtained from a garden center
or builders' merchant.
Use only clean water, as dirty water will cause the seals to wear very quickly.
4.3
Drill rig
The safety and operating instructions for the drill rig being used are to be strictly observed.
The DKS32/DKS32S is fastened at the gear foot (see illustration) with 4 M8 screws on the rig (4). Choose screws
which a length of thread engagement of at least 15 mm.
Place the machine only in a stable rig which has precise guides free from clearance. Ensure that the machine axis is
absolutely parallel to the upright column. Only use rigs with sufficient stability.
Since the rig is not included in the delivery, only a few important features are noted here. Please adhere to the
operating instructions for the drill rig.
In order to avoid too high physical burden the diamond core drill and drill rig are to be assembled and carried sepa-
rated from each other.
Fixing methods
Anchor, vacuum, bracing.
Fixing with an anchor
Drill a separate attachment hole for fixing the drill stand in place with an anchor (accessories) in masonry or concrete.
The following dimensions apply for the anchor hole:
Diameter
Masonry
20 mm
Concrete
16 mm
Insert a concrete anchor with expansion wedge or a masonry anchor. Screw the quick-clamping spindle into the
anchor. Attach the drill stand and a washer and screw these on using the wing nut. Tighten the wing nut according
to the levelling using an open-ended spanner.
Fastening by vacuum
To fasten the drill stand by vacuum, you need a commercially available vacuum pump and a vacuum set (accessory).
The vacuum pump must meet the following minimum requirements:
Depth
85 mm
50 mm
