5.2
Drilling with water
Set the volume of water at the ball valve (9) so, that the waste material is completely flushed from the drill hole. If
drilling mud forms round the drill hole, you are not using enough water.
5.3
Dry drilling
5.3.1 Dust extraction
For dry drilling, connect the hose coupling (8) to the GEKA coupling of the suction hood (7). Mount the suction hose
on the hose coupling and switch on the vacuum cleaner.
When dry drilling, be sure to use a powerful dust extraction system with automatic filter cleaning that meets the
following minimum requirements:
Drilling diameter
≤ 150 mm
> 150 mm
Use a dust class "M" vacuum cleaner with automatic filter cleaning. Suction power can only be guar-
anteed if the filter is cleaned continuously. Inadequate extraction of the drilling dust leads to a de-
crease in the drilling progress and to frequent blockage of the drill bit.
Dry drilling is only possible in absolutely dry material. Damp material cannot be drilled dry - risk of blockage.
5.3.2 Soft beat
With the help of a rotating sleeve (6) attached to the spindle, the soft beat can be easily switched on or off. To do
this, press the rotary sleeve axially in the direction of the gearbox (against spring force) and turn it in this position.
The four grooves located on the rotating sleeve and the ON and OFF markings on the drill spindle indicate whether
the soft beat is on or off (see Figures 1 and 2).
The soft beat accelerates the work progress in hard materials and supports the transport of the drill dust to the dust
extraction.

You must remove the mains plug from the supply socket before beginning any maintenance or repair
work.
Clean the machine with a dry or moist cleaning-rag and not with a jet of water. Make sure that no water gets into the
motor or the switch box. Ensure that the ventilation slots are always clean. Clean and grease the tool thread, too.
Damaged PRCDs and plugs have to be repaired or exchanged exclusively in an authorized repair station (www.weka-
elektrowerkzeuge.de).
A damaged cable has to be replaced by a special prepared cable that can be purchased in an authorized repair
station.
6.1
Oil bath gear
The gear oil should be changed after the first 100 hours of operation. Ensure that this work is carried out in a specialist
workshop.
ATTENTION: If gear oil escapes, stop the machine immediately. Leakage of oil damages the gear.
6.2
Wear of toothed discs
Over time, wear occurs on the toothed discs, which reduces the strength of the soft beat. This results in a reduction
in the drilling progress when dry drilling. In this case, the toothed discs must be replaced - this should be done in an
authorized specialist workshop.
6.3

Carbon brushes

The carbon brushes should be examined for wear after about 300 hours in operation, and replaced if necessary. As
with all other work on the motor, this should only be carried out by an electrician.

G U A R A N T E E
We will guarantee the WEKA core drilling machine for 12 months from the day of delivery. During this period we will
rectify material and production defects free of charge. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, overload-
ing, non-compliance with the operating instructions and intervention by unauthorized persons or the use of parts from
other companies.
