Maintenance
6.1
Special conditions
The gas warning system is flameproof. The housing must not be opened.
The flameproof joint must not be repaired.
6.2
Maintenance table
Dräger recommends maintaining the gas warning system every 6 months. The maintenance interval can be extended to max.
24 months under the following conditions:
The lenses do not become soiled.
The zero point (= 4 mA output value) remains stable during the time of the maintenance interval.
Work to be completed
Clean lenses (see Chapter 6.3.1 on Page 59)
Check the alignment of the gas warning system (see Chapter 6.3.2 on Page 60)
Check the function using test gas sheets (see Chapter 4.2.6 on Page 52, step 9.)
Check the signal chain (see Chapter 6.3.4 on Page 61)
Calibrate the 4 to 20 mA interface (see Chapter 6.3.3 on Page 60)
Dräger recommends logging maintenance work. The log should contain the following:
Date of the installation and supplier performing the work
Serial number
Entries for each maintenance activity performed, including details on the firm, date and staff ID.
If a device is sent to Dräger for maintenance purposes, a copy of the log should be included.
6.3
Maintenance work
SIL Lock must be switched off for maintenance work. The master password allows full access to parameterisation and
configuration. The maintenance password allows access to the maintenance functions (alignment and calibration).
The passwords can be configured (see Chapter 8.4 on Page 67). On delivery, SIL Lock is switched off.
The passwords must be entered via a HART
computer with Dräger PolySoft.
6.3.1
Cleaning the lenses
1. Clean the lenses on the gas warning system using a soft cloth and fresh, clean water or lens cleaning fluid LCF 01.
2. Check the alignment of the gas warning system (see Chapter 6.3.2 on Page 60).
