PROBLEM
Grill will not start
During Smoke
Mode, the
temperature is too
high.
Unexpected grill
temperature is
displayed.
CAUSE
Power
Control Knob
Igniter
Auger Motor
Controller
Improper preset for desired
smoking setting.
Grill is exposed to direct sunlight
or high ambient temperature.
Ensure unit is plugged in.
Verify GFIC outlet has power.
Check and reset Ground Fault Interrupter if
necessary.
If igniter is not working, check 5 amp fuse
located at the back of the control. Replace if
necessary.
Ensure control knob is in OFF position.
Turn control knob to SMOKE.
LCD screen will light up.
Remove warming rack, cooking grids, grease
tray and diffuser. Turn unit on and visually
inspect the igniter. Start unit using lighting
instruction. If not working, call Customer
Service.
Remove cooking grids, grease tray and
diffuser. Turn unit on and visually inspect the
auger is moving. If not, remove Controller and
inspect wiring connections. Contact Customer
Service for assistance.
Remove Control Board. Inspect the wires and
connections. If no issue found, contact
Customer Service.
With the grill set to "SMOKE", press the M/P
button to select a higher preset.
Use the grill in a shaded area when possible.
However, other than showing incorrect
temperature readings, this will not harm the
grill. Briefly open the grill lid to help reduce the
temperature if needed.
