6. SAFETY MEASURES.
The use of this equipment requires a maximum degree of responsibility in its use and maintenance. Please read
this safety chapter and the rest of the operating instructions carefully to ensure that the equipment is used
correctly.
• Make sure that the part to be welded makes perfect electrical contact with the equipment welding ground.
• The machine must be disconnected from the power supply during any maintenance or disassembly work on
any internal part of the machine.
• Avoid action on the equipment switches when the welding operation is in progress.
• Avoid leaning directly on the workpiece. Always work with protective gloves.
• Handling of the welding guns and welding tools must be carried out with the equipment switched off (OFF
(O) position of the main switch). Avoid touching electrically live parts (gun, ground, etc.) with bare hands.

In the interest of your safety and the safety of others, remember that:
ANY PRECAUTION MAY NOT BE ENOUGH!
The welding equipment referred to in this manual is of an electrical nature, it is therefore
important to observe the following safety precautions:
• Intervention on the equipment must only be carried out by specialised personnel.
• The equipment must always be connected to an effective earth connection.
• The location of the equipment must not be in a wet area.
• Do not use the equipment if the welding or power cables are damaged. Use original
spare parts.
It is advisable to clean the workpiece of the possible existence of grease and solvents as
these can decompose in the welding process, giving off smoke which can be very toxic.
The same can happen with those materials that incorporate some type of surface
treatment (zinc plating, galvanising, etc.). Avoid inhaling the fumes given off in the
process at all times. Protect yourself from smoke and metallic dust that may arise. Use
approved smoke masks. Work with this equipment must be carried out in premises or
workplaces where there is adequate air renewal. When welding processes are carried out
in enclosed areas, it is advisable to use suitable fume extractors.
In the welding process, the electric arc formed emits infrared and ultraviolet radiation,
which is harmful to the eyes and skin, therefore these uncovered areas must be suitably
protected with gloves and suitable clothing. The eyes must be protected with an approved
protection system with a minimum protection index of 11. With electric arc welding
machines, use eye and face protection. Always use approved protective equipment. Never
wear contact lenses, as they can stick to the cornea due to the high heat emitted in the
process. Be aware that the arc is considered dangerous within a radius of 15 metres.
During the welding process, molten material is spattered and precautions must be taken.
A fire extinguisher must be located in the vicinity of the workplace. Avoid the presence of
flammable or explosive materials in the vicinity of the workplace. Prevent fires caused by
sparks or slag. Use approved footwear for this type of operation.
Never point the electrode clamp towards people.
