OPERATION

WARNING:
Do not allow familiarity with this product to make you
careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second
is sufficient to inflict serious injury.
WARNING:
Always remove battery pack from the product when
you are assembling parts, making adjustments, clean-
ing, or when not in use. Removing battery pack will
prevent accidental starting that could cause serious
personal injury.
WARNING:
Do not use any attachments or accessories not
recommended by the manufacturer of this product. The
use of attachments or accessories not recommended
can result in serious personal injury.
CAUTION:
Avoid picking up hard, sharp objects with this product,
as they may cause damage.
CAUTION:
Do not use this appliance to clean or groom animals.
APPLICATIONS
You may use this product for the purposes listed below:
 Removing stains and pet messes
 Clean stairs, rugs, carpets, and other surfaces
INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY PACK
See Figure 5, page 9.
Insert the battery pack into the battery port as shown.

Make sure the latch on the battery pack snaps into place

and the battery pack is secured in the product before
beginning operation.
Depress the latch and pull to release and remove the

battery pack.
For complete charging instructions, see the operator's
manuals for your battery pack and charger.
REMOVING AND FILLING THE SOLUTION
TANK
See Figures 6 - 8, page 10.
Use the included cleaning solution to fill the solution tank.
NOTICE
Use only HART brand solution. Do not use other chem-
icals as this may damage the internal parts of the unit
and void your warranty.
 Remove the battery pack.
To remove:
 Depress the tank release lever above the solution tank.
NOTE: The solution tank is on the left side of the
appliance.
 Lift the tank up and away from the spot cleaner.
To fill:
 Unscrew the measuring cap and remove it from the tank.
 Fill the solution tank with warm water to either the small
mess fill line or large mess fill line (up to 0.4 gallons).
CAUTION:
Do not boil or microwave water. Do not fill with water
above 140°F (60°C).
 Carefully pour the solution into the measuring cap
and pour into solution tank. Use recommended
amount.
NOTE: Using more than the recommended amount of
detergent may cause excessive foaming.
CLEANING PRODUCTS
WARNING:
To reduce risk of fire and electric shock due to internal
component damage, use only HART cleaning products
intended for use with the product.
For optimal performance, use Hart brand solutions. Refills
are available at Walmart. This includes HCCS01 Hart Pet
Carpet Cleaning Formula and HCCS02 Hart Oxy Carpet
Cleaning Formula.
HART Cleaning Solution
Large Mess - top fill line
(0.4 gal water)
Small Mess - bottom fill
line (0.1 gal water)
 Rinse the measuring cap with clean water.
 Replace the measuring cap and tighten securely.
 Lower the bottom of the solution tank onto the spot
cleaner at an angle and then push the top of the tank
toward the spot cleaner until the release lever clicks into
place.
