INSTRUCTIONS
1) Remove STERZO SMART from its box and place it on a flat surface.
(Pic. 1A - 1B)
2) Make sure the anti-slip and scratch-proof rubber feet firmly grip said
surface. Use STERZO SMART on anti-slip surfaces, such as Elite's Training
Mat, for greater stability.
3) Position the front wheel of the bicycle by leaning with its central
section on the cursor of STERZO SMART (Pic. 2).
WARNING: Make sure that STERZO SMART rotation pin is correctly
positioned as shown in the pictures (Pic. 3A - 3B).
4) The cursor of STERZO SMART must be parallel to the bicycle. (Pic. 4)
5) Before any use, make sure that the wheel is correctly positioned. (Pic.
5A - 5B) The base must remain in place during use, only the cursor where
the wheel rests on must rotate.
STERZO SMART features a circuit board with a sensor that detects the
rotation angle of the wheel and wirelessly sends the related info. Data
is sent via Bluetooth and ANT protocols and processed by a software
that activates many related functions.
Not all software connects to STERZO SMART. Check with the the
software/app manufacturer if it's compatible with STERZO SMART.
STATUS LED LIGHT
STERZO SMART also features multicoloured LED lights that display
device status.
Green/blue alternated blinking = device ready for connection
Blue LED light on / Blue rapid flickering every 3 seconds 1 =
Connected via Bluetooth protocol.
Green LED light on / Green rapid flickering every 3 seconds 1 =
Connected via ANT protocol.
Triple red LED light blinking every 8 seconds = Battery < 15%.
LED light off = Stand-by mode.
1 once connected to a device, the status LED light turns on and remains
so for the next 5 minutes, then it turns off and briefly blinks every 3
seconds to demonstrate that it's working properly.
STAND-BY
When the device isn't connected for 5 minutes and detects no movement
from the wheel, STERZO SMART enters energy saving stand-by mode.
Just rotate the wheel/handlebar to reactivate it.
It is ready to connect again after exiting stand-by mode.
HARDWARE
Requires 3 AAA 2 (1,5 V) batteries for the circuit board to work.
STERZO SMART features a battery compartment at the bottom that
you can open by unfastening the screw on the cover. Make sure that
batteries are properly installed by checking their correct position on
the compartment.
The board notifies when battery charge is getting low. If it's less than
15% the LED light will intermittently blink every 8 seconds with 3 red
flashes.
Battiers ensure about 600 operation hours.
2 Use only alkaline batteries.
CAUTION
Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions.
WARNING: reversing battery polarity may damage the electronic
components.
NOTE
Once connected via one of the two protocols (Bluetooth or ANT), STERZO
SMART will turn off the other protocol to save energy and reduce any
potential interference with other devices.
When STERZO SMART exits stand-by mode it goes back to using both
protocols.
