Adapter
Connections to the Ambr
The adapter connects to the Ambr
the standard filter does: Via 3 ports corresponding to the feed, permeate
and retentate ports. The tubing provided with the accessory connects each
of these ports to the corresponding port on the filter. The filter holder allows
the filter to be attached and securely connected to the adapter via Luer
fittings.
One of the two permeate ports on the filter is not used by the adapter and
must therefore remain blanked with a Luer cap (the filters are supplied with
Luer caps on all ports). It must be ensured that the Luer cap is tight on the
unused permeate port or the filter may fail its gas tightness test.
3.1
The Filtration Process
The filtration process is unchanged when using the device with the Ambr
Crossflow module, whether it's ultrafiltration or diafiltration. Instead of going
straight into the standard filter, the fluid flows through from the adapter
feed port into the corresponding port on the Sartocon
the fluid flows out from the Sartocon
permeate ports, back into the adapter's corresponding ports and into the
Ambr
Crossflow module.
