Automatic chain-off thread cutting
When the automatic chain-off thread cutting function is
enabled, the material end is detected at the end of sewing
and chain-off thread is automatically cut to the set length.
* If the material is present on the sensor, the chain-off
thread cutter will not operate.
* Note that the automatic chain-off thread cutting function
may fail to work well when sewing a transparent materi-
al, short material or narrow material.
In such a case, place the automatic chain-off thread
cutting function in OFF and press the chain-off thread
cutting button manually.
* As long as the sensor recognizes the material,
displayed on the LCD screen.
* When using decorative threads or thick threads, pull
the fabric to the right after sewing and cut the chain-
off thread while pulling it close to the base of the chain-
off thread cutter, or cut with something other than the
chain-off thread cutter.
■ Setting the automatic chain-off thread cutting
function
1. Press automatic chain-off thread cutting changeover
button ❶ .
2. When the automatic chain-off thread cutting function is
set, ❷ is displayed on the sewing screen (parameter
display).
3. If you want to disable the automatic chain-off thread
cutting function, press automatic chain-off thread cut-
ting changeover button ❶ again.
■ Setting the length of chain-off thread
It is possible to set the chain-off thread length to be cut
automatically.
1. Press edit button ❶ .
2. Press right button ❷ to select the item (second from

the left) corresponding to the automatic chain-off
thread cutting length.
3. Press enter button ❸ .
4. Press right or left button ❹ to determine the chain-off
thread cutting length.
5. Press enter button ❺ .
6. Press edit button ❻ .
