OPERATION
Read the entire "SAFETY" section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before
set up or use of this product.
Improper treatment of Trash Pump can damage internal components and shorten the life of unit. Failure to follow
this warning will void warranty.
Pre-Start Checks
Inspect engine and equipment looking for damaged, loose,
and missing parts before set up and starting. If any problems
are found, do not use equipment until fixed properly.
1. Locating the Trash Pump
Place the Trash Pump in a well ventilated area. DO NOT
place the trash pump near vents or intakes where
exhaust fumes could be drawn into occupied or confined
spaces. Carefully consider wind and air currents when
positioning Trash Pump.
This Trash Pump must have at least 5 ft. (1.5 m) of
clearance from combustible material. Leave at least
3 ft. (91.4 cm) of clearance on all sides of the Trash
pump to allow for adequate cooling, maintenance
and servicing.
Place the pump on a level surface free from any
obstructions or potential hazards. The pump should
be placed close to the water level to ensure maximum
pump performance.
TOTAL HEAD
SUCTION HEAD
Pump output will be affected by the type, length, and
size of the suction and discharge hoses. The pumping
height, also known as the total head, is the distance
from the water level to the point of discharge. As
this distance increases, pump output decreases. The
discharge capacity is greater than the suction capacity.
Therefore, it is important that the suction head is less
than the discharge head.
The time required to draw water from the source to
the pump (self-priming time) can be decreased by
minimizing the suction head.
WARNING DO NOT run the pump dry. Running the
pump dry can destory the pump seals and will void the
warranty. If the pump was running while dry, stop the
engine and allow it to cool thoroughly before filling the
chamber with water.

2. Priming the Pump
2.1 Remove the Pump Priming Plug.
2.2 Completely fill the pump with liquid.
2.3 Replace the Pump Priming Plug
3. Adding Engine Oil
NOTICE
Your Warranty is VOID if the engine's crankcase
is not properly filled with oil before each use. Before each
use, check the oil level.
Engine will not start with low or no engine oil.
Make sure the engine is stopped and is level.
3.1
3.2
Close the Fuel Valve.
3.3
Clean the top of the Dipstick and the area around.
Remove the Dipstick by turning it counterclockwise,
and wipe it off with a clean, lint free rag.
3.4 Place funnel in the oil reservoir.
3.5 Pour engine oil (SAE 10W-30 is recommended for
general use) until oil level reaches the threads inside
the oil reservior.
DO NOT overfill.
Full level
3.6 Reinsert the Dipstick without threading it in and remove
it to check the oil level. The oil level should be up to the
full level as shown above.
3.7 If the oil level is at or below the low mark, add the
appropriate type of oil until the oil level is at the proper
level. (See "The SAE Viscosity Grade chart" on Page 13
in the "MAINTENANCE" section shows other viscosities
to use in different average temperatures.)
