This assembly/setup guide is specific to your Specialized Hotwalk Carbon balance bike. It contains important
information about assembly and safety, which you should read before your child's first ride and keep for reference.
You should also read the entire Specialized Bicycle Owner's Manual ("Owner's Manual"), because it has additional
important general information and instructions which you should follow. If you do not have a copy of the Owner's
Manual, you can download it at no cost at www.specialized.com, or obtain it from your nearest Authorized
Specialized Retailer or Specialized Rider Care.
Assembly of this balance bike requires experience in the use of basic tools as well as general knowledge regarding
bike maintenance. If you do not have such experience, it should be assembled by an Authorized Specialized Retailer.
When reading this user manual, you will note various important symbols and warnings, which are explained below:
WARNING! The combination of this symbol and word indicates a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, could result in serious injury or death. Many of the Warnings
say "you may lose control and fall." Because any fall can result in serious injury or even
death, we do not always repeat the warning of possible injury or death.
INFO: This symbol alerts the reader to information which is particularly important.

WARNING! The Hotwalk Carbon is intended and tested for use by children age 2 and older, up
to a maximum rider weight limit of 40 lb / 18 kg. Adult supervision required at all times. The
Hotwalk Carbon should be used with caution to avoid falls or collisions that could cause injury

to the user or third parties.
WARNING! Protective equipment should be worn. Not to be used in traffic. Suitable
protective equipment includes helmets, gloves, knee pads, elbow pads. Refer to the Owner's
Manual for more information and safe riding practices.

Remove the balance bike from the packaging and set aside the handlebar and torque wrench. When installing the

handlebar or adjusting the saddle height, use the supplied torque wrench (Fig. 1).
