If you wish to use the instrument
with a cable-connected Personal Computer
use the serial cable supplied with
the opacimeter to connect the RS232 (COM) port
of the PC that you wish to use. Connect the other
end of the cable to the opacimeter inlet
If the PC is not equipped with a serial
communication port, but with a USB port.
it is necessary to use the optional cable code 8-
64500002.
Connect the opacity measuring instrument to the
oil temperature probe (optional)
Connect the opacity measuring instrument to the
engine rpm detection module (optional).
Connect the power cable to the mains and
switch the instrument on. At the end of the
warm-up phase after about 3 minutes the
opacity measuring module fan switches on.
If you wish to use the instrument with a wireless-
connected (Bluetooth) Personal Computer, make
sure that the instrument is equipped with option 8-
64500003.
If you wish to use the instrument with a Personal
Computer install the software on the personal
computer as described in the paragraph Software
installation

Select the item referred to rpm division. Confirm using the key ().
If the revolution counter is connected the calculated rpm is displayed using
the set divisor.
Press the up arrow or down arrow keys to modify the divisor.
