5.6 Additional safety instruc-
tions for grinding with a
wire brush
Safety warning specifi c to grinding
with a wire brush
a) Note that during normal activity wire
bristles are fl ung off. Do not overload
the wires with excessive pressure on
the brush. The wire bristles may easily
penetrate light clothing and/or skin.
b) If a protective cover is recommend-
ed for grinding with a wire brush,
ensure that there is no contact be-
tween the wire disc or brush and the
protective cover. The wire disc or cover
may during work activity, through the
effect of load and centrifugal forces, in-
crease its diameter.
5.7 Turner safety instructions
► The storage and handling of grinding
wheels must be carried out in compliance
with the manufacturer's instructions.
► Make sure that the pliable washers of the
grinding tool arte installed if such wash-
ers are supplied with the tool and their
use is required.
► Do not use separated reduction housings
or adaptors to adjust grinding wheels
with larger holes.
► In the case of equipment designed for use
with an internal-threaded wheel make
sure that the thread in the wheel is long
enough with respect to the length of the
spindle.
► The machine may not be used in damp
and wet spaces, outdoor when it is rainy,
foggy or snowy or in the explosive envi-
ronment.
► Before use always inspect the fl exible
lead and the plug. Have the defects re-
paired by a specialist repair shop.
► Outside the premise use only approved
extension leads and cable connections.
► It is not allowed to grind or cut asbestos
materials.
► Apply the machine to the material only
when switched on.
► Do not carry the machine by the lead.
18
► For safety reason the workpiece must be
clamped in a vice or a clamping jig. In
such a way the workpiece can be oper-
ated by both hands.
► The fl exible lead plug only connect into
the socket when the machine is off.
► Do not use cutting wheels for grinding.
► Before replacing the grinding wheel or
during other operations always discon-
nect the plug from the socket (power
supply).
► When cutting or dividing stone or ma-
sonry it is necessary to use a guide rail
or a suction cover.
► Do not work on a ladder.
► Persons under 16 are not allowed to work
with the grinding machine.
5.8 Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a
qualifi ed repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.
5.9 Residual risk
Although this information sheet and the
operating manuals for our electrical tools
contain extensive instructions on safe work-
ing with electrical tools, every electrical tool
involves certain residual risks that cannot
be completely prevented through safety
mechanisms. Therefore, electrical tools
must always be operated with the neces-
sary caution.
