English
•
Never attempt to sharpen the chisel through for-
ging. Work the chisel only by milling, grinding or
turning. Use suitable alloy steel tools.
•
Fig. 1 shows the location of the hammer's
CE-plate on which the serial no. is given.
•
Check and follow the carrier's instructions for
changing of oil filters. The filter should usually be
changed more often when the hammer is in use.
•
The hammer is a tool intended for demolition. It
should not be used for lifting or prizing.
Installation
!
WARNING
To avoid accidents, the hammer should be
secured against the carrier with chain.
•
To guarantee that the hammer is not overloaded,
a separate pressure relief valve must be installed,
see fig. 2. If the carrier's hammer circuit is alrea-
dy fitted with a pressure relief valve, an extra one
is not required.
•
Hammer working pressure. See Technical Data.
The pressure is set with the help of a pressure
gauge while the hammer is in operation, fig 3.
How to operate
!
CAUTION
Always run the hammer at the correct wor-
king pressure. See Techical Data.
!
CAUTION
Never run the carrier's cylinders to their end
positions. This generates powerful vibra-
tions and wear on the carrier.
•
The hammer must always be positioned at a right
angle to the material, see fig. 9.
•
A deviation of more than 5° results in increased
stress on the chisel and the hammer body, see.
fig. 10, which is not permitted.
•
Never run the chisel too deeply and too long at
the same place, see fig. 11.
•
Never use the hammer as a claw wrench, see fig.
12.
•
Never use the hammer as a sledgehammer, see
fig. 13.
6
•
The hammer may not be used to lift or transport
goods, see fig. 14.
•
The hammer may not be used under water, see
fig. 15.
•
Avoid running idle as this causes excessive wear
on chisel and chiselholder.
Lubrication
Lubricate the chisel shank thoroughly every two
hours using high-temperature grease such as CP
chisel grease. This also lubricates the bushing and
the tool holders; 5-10 pumps of the grease gun is
sufficient, see fig. 6. Stop when the grease starts to
emerge by the chisel holder or between the chisel
and the bushing.
!
WARNING
When lubricating the chisel by hand, the car-
rier's engine should be switched off to avoid
risk of accidents.
On lubrication, the chisel must be pressed against
the hammer piston so that the space between the
piston and the chisel does not fill with grease (Fig. 6)

Maintenance
Daily:
•
Check the chisel holder and locking pin.
•
Check that hoses and couplings are in good con-
dition.
•
Check that the adapter plate bolts are sound and
have not worked loose.
Monthly:
•
Clean the hammer thoroughly
•
Check the wear of the bushing. See fig. 5 for
maximum wear limits. Excessive wear may result
in chisel breakage and damage to the piston.
•
Check the hammer body and adapter plate for
cracks and signs of wear.
•
Check the piston's striking surface. If there is any
sign of damage, contact your local CP dealer for
advice.
Yearly:
•
For safety reasons inspection and service should
be done at the nearest CP service centre, or aut-
horised workshop.
